"I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might-have-been has never been, but a has-been was once an are."-- Milton Berle ---------- To view the current page search: http://patchogueclass62.blogspot.com/

50 Years - The Day The Music Died in 1959
February 3rd is "the day the music died," the day in 1959 when Buddy Holly was killed in a plane crash in Clear Lake, Iowa, along with Ritchie Valens ("La Bamba") and J.P. Richardson (known as "The Big Bopper"). Buddy Holly's career as a rock star only lasted a year and a half, but he recorded "Peggy Sue," "Everyday," "That'll Be the Day," "Oh, Boy!" and many more hits. Buddy Holly was 22 years old when he died.

Our Grandchildren Can Learn To Swim Early. Click to Watch Miles' 3.5 min video
Children over 1 year learn the following sequence during ISR's (Infant Swimming Resource)self-rescue swimming lessons.
* To hold their breath underwater
* Swim with their head down
* Roll onto their back to float, rest, and breathe
* Roll back over to resume swimming until they reach the side of the pool, crawl out or be rescued by an adult.
* To perform these self-rescue skills first in a swim diaper, then while fully clothed.
With these skills your child will be able to swim independently and learn to move at his or her own pace toward the safety of the side of the pool or the shores of a pond or lake.
